Shade and Strand

Shade and strand did my hair and makeup for my wedding and it was amazing! Charee was the hairstylist and Kim did the makeup. They were both incredible! They also did the hair and makeup for my 4 bridesmaids and my mom and everyone looked amazing! They came to my hotel room to do the hair and makeup and that was great! They made us feel very comfortable. They were on time, efficient, friendly, and very talented in hair and makeup. I would highly recommend them!

Shade and Strand was super easy to work with and I was thrilled with the end result. Kelly styled my hair beautifully for an outdoor beach up-do that held perfectly all night. The rest of the wedding party raved about their hair. Cynthia did beautiful make-up for all five of us that withstood a hot sunny day and a late night on the dance floor. I loved working with both of them and they made the getting ready process so relaxing. Definitely recommend!

Heather is the absolute best!!! The trial was exactly like the day of hair and it was exactly what I wanted. She is so kind and was such a great presence on my wedding day. She also took note of the little things such as, we forgot a speaker and she let me connect to hers and my mom was concerned with her make up so she was able to fit her into the day and do my moms make up. I could go on and on, but overall just make sure you use Heather, you won’t be upset!!

The most professional and beautiful work done. We had several issues arise (another vendor cancellation, a power outage) and Heather and Tiffany each and every time stepped up and handled business calmly. On top of helping me get through stressful situations on my wedding day they did beautiful work. I could not have been happier with the way i looked and my wedding party looked. I would recommend them and use them again for any other occassion

I booked a last minute bridal makeup and groom’s “the works.” They were very responsive the entire time. Brittany did both, my and my groom. For him, he said she did a great job and was responsive to his needs and desires. I’d have to say the same for me. I told her I wanted to still look myself and she made me look great! And the makeup lasted all night as well! And it’s not like I was just sitting around, I was up and dancing the entire night! I would highly recommend Brittany!

Heather and her stylists (Kelly and Tiffany) were incredible! From the mini hair/makeup trial, I could tell that they were a fun team. They were extremely easy to set up a reservation, which was exactly what I was looking for. Not to mention, their prices are extremely reasonable. There was no fuss over special services when making the reservation as there was either no extra charge (e.g., updo vs. down) or extra services (e.g., fake lashes) could be added on the day of. We scheduled an epic, two day family photo session in multiple locations throughout San Diego. Shade and Strand came early in the morning (on time!) to prepare 7 ladies for the photo shoots, then one of them met us at another location to change hairstyles for us mid day. We couldn’t have been happier with their services! We aren’t the easiest bunch, with a variety of ages (19 to 84) and personalities. Heather and Tiffany were accommodating and attentive to our requests! They did a great job on hair and make up, and they were an absolute pleasure. I would not hesitate to hire them again!

Heather and Tiffany were amazing to work with! Great communication and extremely flexible with my wedding party. I did a trial and they were both helpful in making slight changes on my wedding day. We all looked sooo good!! I would definitely recommend Heather and Tiffany!

Shade and Strand did an amazing job on my hair and makeup as well as my mom’s for my wedding day. I did not do a trial because I trusted the professionals and I couldn’t have been happier! They did up-do styles on my mom and I. Every step of the way they checked in with us to make sure we liked what they were doing and that we felt comfortable. Definitely go with Shade and Strand!

Heather and Tiffany were absolutely wonderful! I showed Tiffany a picture of the type of soft look my bridesmaids and I wanted, and she knew exactly what to do. The makeup felt light on our skin and had great coverage. She really listened to our wants. Heather was fun and creative with our hair, and made LOVELY designs. Our hair ranged from short boy-cut to waist-long, and she worked all of it with ease and confidence. We felt natural and beautiful!! Perfect for a wedding in the gardens.

Entrusting a stranger to do your makeup for the most important day of your life is kinda scary. However, Heather immediately eased my nerves, and made me feel very confident. She engaged with all my bridesmaids, made sure I was eating breakfast in between lip care, and helped me feel beautiful. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else helping me get ready, and very thankful for her patient heart. You won’t be disappointed if you hire her!

Honestly, whatever I am writing in this review is an understatement. Tiff and Heather was more the amazing, they were absolutely one of a kind. They knew exactly what I wanted for each of my girls! That is not even the first half of it; their personalities…it literally made all my nerves disappear the day of the wedding, they reassured me, they vibes and atmosphere was so fun during make up and hair. It was just awesome all the way. Our personalities just clicked so well and I know that I wouldn’t have found a better duo than Shade & Strand. Tiff and Heather, keep doing what you are doing! If I get married again, I am calling you for hair and make up. Lol.

This is seriously a dream team/dynamic duo/miracle workers! Tiffany and Heather were so fun to hang out with before my wedding, they did everyone’s hair and makeup and we all looked fabulous!
